Let southern Spain fire the senses on this 10-day journey from Madrid, the country’s energetic capital, to beautiful Granada, home of the famous Alhambra palace complex.

Madrid is one of Europe’s most engaging and vivid capitals, alive with art, nightlife, and incredible architecture. Combine its history with one of the city’s great passions, tapas, on a 3.5-hour walking tour, and enjoy some time to explore on your own. You might visit the mighty Prado Museum, watch the locals at play in Retiro Park, or take a tour of the Royal Palace. Then board your train bound for Seville.

No city captures the spirit of Andalusia quite like Seville, defied by highlights such as the Plaza de Espana, San Telmo Palace, and the Royal Alcazar, which you’ll see on a day tour of the city. This also takes you through some of the most enchanting neighbourhoods including the Jewish quarter and Triana. Then take a day trip to Jerez, the home of sherry, and Cadiz, where you’ll have a chance to enjoy some of the famous fried fish for lunch.

Your next stop is Cordoba. Once an underappreciated day trip on Andalusia tours, more people are choosing to stay for a night or two, stepping beyond the iconic Mezquita mosque. Don’t worry, you’ll see it! But you’ll also get to see the beautiful Alcazar, and the Jewish quarter which gives Cordoba so much of its unique character. It’s also a smaller city than Seville, preserving a more relaxed pace of life, which you can discover with a free afternoon.

Your trip ends in Granada, famously home to the Alhambra and Generalife, Spain’s most recognizable palace and arguably the greatest palace complex in Europe. Enjoy a flamenco show on your first night here, then three hours at the Alhambra, giving you plenty of time to explore Granada’s more subtle charms before you depart.
